Sequins, feathers and pearls: the 1920s was a woman's fashion decade that arguably has yet to be topped. It was also the beginning of liberation of women when it came to fashion, lifestyle and voting. Appropriate that the 20s was also the decade the Spinsters of San Francisco was founded (November 6, 1929 to be exact!) These women set the stage for what the group has become today: a community oriented social and philanthropic organization of 175 wonderful, young women in San Francisco.
I recently joined the Spinsters of San Francisco and have enjoyed meeting likeminded girls in the city, frequenting our numerous happy hours and mostly importantly participating in our charity events. One such event happens to be next week (The Great Gatsby) and I couldn't be more excited to rock my own version of sequins, feathers and pearls!
Geographer, a local SF group, is really hitting their stride. Their next album Myth is out February 28th and Life of Crime is the first single to drop. I'm completely obsessed and looking forward to their tour date at the Independent on March 3rd. It's already sold out but get your tickets on Craigslist, it will be worth your time. I promise.
I'm finally doing this. Or that's what I'm telling myself. Follow along as I explore San Francisco, my latest fashion finds, food, music, events & everything else our fabulous city has to offer. It's a month in but here is to 2012!
